LED upgrade

Firstly, after recently ordering LED bulbs for my 2008 HSE, found service to be excellent. Very fast delivery - very happy!
Secondly,I understand that there is no issue with the interior lights, but what about the exterior ones?
I have fitted puddle lights, number plate lights, and reversing lights.Do any of these require resistors?
Eventually,I intend to replace the sidelights, brake lights, and indicators, so any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

So far I have done side lights, puddle, mirror and all internal LEDs with no issues. Either used Fizzimo or Advanced Factors, both great service.

Ive just ordered sidelight, interior light and reversing light LED for my MY2008 GS.

Very quick response and dispatch from Steve @ Advanced Thumbs Up

Cant wait to see what they look like fitted, Ive already fitted LED Boot light strip and number plate lights and the change is amazing.

Dipped/Main bulbs will be next with Osram Nightbreakers and on the hunt for LED stop/tail if they make them.

I have tried a number of the Stop Tail options in the Freelander without success, even though they work well in other Land Rovers. I currently have some adaptors/ mini wiring looms on order to enhance the resistance, will keep you advised as to it's success.

Every other LED works well in the FL2

Can we put LED headlight bulbs in legally?

I have standard HB3 so I assume it would be HEADLAMPS DH0000001 ONWARDS ARE HB3 HALOGEN

Has anyone tested these bulbs for quality, illumination, etc?

Lamps have to be 'E' marked to be legal.

The reflector and lens are designed for specific lamps, not LED, the light output may appear to be good looking at them but the light cast on the road will be poor I imagine.

Once again,a brilliant service from Advanced Factors. Thanks!
Replaced the front sidelight bulbs and side repeater bulbs, and also fitted the later clear lensed high-level brake light.Looks much better than the original.Bought it at a good price too.
Next job will be to fit the front and rear indicator bulbs, but will need to order load resistors.

Instead of ordering resistors, which defeats the point of LEDs having lower power consumption, you may be able to replace the flasher relay.

I know it's a very different vehicle, but that's what I did when I replaced the indicators on my Defender with LED units - very quick and easy to do as it was plug-and-play. Gordon

Yes I've heard of this option but this is assuming the Freelander 2 utilises the traditional indicator relay which I don't think it does. Not sure in earlier models but In my My15 the indicator comes over the audio system so I imagine is far more sophisticated than the old relay type. I Havn't had a chance to look into this yet but I would imagine the RR, RRS, Ds4 would have a similar part that does this job and suspect it would be interchangeable if you want to go from here I would be interested to see what you find/discover. That was my starting point.
