Got the bug

Thanks guys, after seeing some of the improvements you guys have made to your cars, I've decided to start on my 2008 HSE.
Due to a recent shoulder operation, I've been limited to the mods I am able to do,at the moment, but have managed to replace all interior lights with led's.I have changed the orange side indicators for clear ones - much better. Also added led's to the puddle lights, and rear number plates.
Next job will be new set of 18" alloy wheels with summer tyres.I've kept to the same size wheels as originals, simply because,my original tyres still have plenty of life left in them. Also, my spare is a full size wheel, so less hassle.I've got the new alloys, but not able to drive for another week or so,so won't be able to fit them just yet.
I am still toying with the idea of re-mapping, but need to prioritise which other mods are more important(to me).
Loving my Freelander - it's the first car that I've ever thought about improving.

Personaly I'm really not into modding cars there's one on here that I think looks absolutely awful but the owner seems happy with it,I sympathise with the shoulder been there with that and found out just how little you can do,take my advice and let it heal before you start lugging huge wheels and things about, good luck with it.

Thanks for the input.I don't intend to do too much . I agree with you about people going over-the-top - each to his own.
Changing the interior lights to LED's has made a huge difference
Really would like to upgrade the radio to incorporate DAB.May be looking into that, when funds allow.
I have no intention of changing the interior, as I like it as it is.Got electric heated leather seats - happy.

Agreed DAB coverage is almost as poor as 3G for phones (did someone mention 4G is that another marketing concept?). Also unless the DAB signal is good you get nothing rather than a degraded signal. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Modding is a very personal thing.
Remember you are improving (?) the car for your own taste and enjoyment and not for the resale value.
Your plans sound cool, please keep us updated with pics Thumbs Up

Joe Fix it until it's broke !

Yes, I have always noticed that when you trade in a car they take no notice of anything you have added (even new tyres). My wife took her Peugeot 207 to a garage and the guy just walked around it and asked the mileage, didn't get in or ask to hear the engine running. My comments like "it's got new discs and pads" meant nothing.
Last year I traded in a Freelander and the sales guy walked out to read the mileage and that was it. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Thanks for the comments. I intend to keep the car for about 3 years(that's good for me!),so any mild improvements/comforts would be good.
I agree that when trading- in,no allowance is made for any mods that are made. That is why I only want to do subtle improvements. When I do trade-in, my spare alloys will be sold separately.I usually keep all receipts for any expenditure on all the cars I have owned, but they are ignored by the dealer. It's just handy for the new owner.

We have the same FL2, same color.
Came with the same black door handles.

Get a set in color and change them, it's a big improvement visually...
