hawkeye or lynx seem to give the best for LR but FL2 not always as supported as some other models. |

I've had a Scangauge II for years and love it, but it doesn't work with the software in my 2001 TD5 Defender

I have an Autel Maxidas DS708 and am very happy with it. I have used it with success on everything from my FL2 to a 1993 BMW M3 and a 2001 Sprinter Van! It is OBD2 and OBD1 compliant and came with all the necessary adapters. One of the features of the DS708 is you can regenerate DPFs (my wife has a Peugeot!). It has also allowed me to bleed the ABS pump on a VW new Beetle. Like the man says - you get what you pay for! John

I've had one of these for about a week. It's a useful unit but does not display the full DTC including subcodes eg P0045?? so you might be left with no option but to pay someone for a more detailed result. The most worrying aspect of some recurring DTCs is that nothing ever appears on the dash. And don't be fooled by cheaper units - you may get nothing at all flagged up, even after a Reduced Engine Performance message and limp mode. |

Personally I prefer the FBH, usually sorts out most problems. All FL2's (3) Gone

I'vejust invested in the new iCarsoft LRII scan tool. Having recently acquired a MY11 Td4 I had the 'Oil Service Required' notice. This cleared and reset the warning. It seems a good bit of kit and also has a general OBD2 module included which will search the protocol on other vehicles. Seemed to work on the wife's Qashqai!!! |
