The petrol nozzle is narrower thus triggering the device, as you squeeze the trigger the fuel immediately trips the 'full' sensor on the nozzle and cuts out the petrol pump, there is a plastic reset tool in the car to reset the device and fill as normal, nothing as far as I know records the event.

There is an aftermarket device called a Fuel Angel that can be fitted. Not got one so no experience with them, just thought I'd mention it.

hmm that might be worth looking into

My partner has been running a petrol for the last 2 years - which wasn't an issue going that way as the Diesel nozzle physically won't go in the filler hole.

Saying that out of the two of us I'm the only one that's ever filled a Diesel with Petrol Rolling Eyes

Must say I've never had the inclination to look down my filler oriface, never mind take a pic of it. Shocked
