There should be no effect on MoT emissions as the EGR is designed to cut down NOx emissions, which are not tested on the MoT. This may change in the future, as NOx is the emission that is killing people in cities. If they can't fix it diesels will be likely banned in cities fairly soon. Stands to reason that as soon as they can find a reliable check for NOx they will start to test it at the MoT.
My own experience (on a TD5 engine) is that there is no real gain if the EGR is working properly. However if it is jammed open then blanking can make a very big difference. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

2 different models?

Hoorah!

There is 2 different models on blacking plate, one whit drilled hole in middle and normal whit out drilled hole?

whats the point? will it pass " some " fumes to sensors that they dont belive that its stucked and wont lights any come on?

Does it need some remapping after installing it, ive got 2007MY whitout DPF.

About limp mode, if it goes to limp mode after plate, do i need to remove it and go to local dealer to reset limp mode and it will get back to normal?

No expert but the holes are for the bolts that fix it and on your age of vehicle you don't need to remap.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Santorini Black

My 2010 preface lift has now completed 12 months 12k miles with EGR blank fitted, mot last week passed with 0.47 on the emissions. The blank is a solid flat aluminium plate, ie no centre hole. No software mods. Very happy.
.
Shortly I intend removing the inlet manifold to get rid of the swirl flaps.
.
Kind regards from Fred

Hi cqr!
There is no noticeable performance gain in removing the cat if you are at 160ps. You only get a very mecanical sound out from your tail pipe. (not much difference inside the car.) If you have remapped to about 200 then I guess the cat can be an obstruction, but I have not tried to veld it on again to check this. (It passed the simple MOT with good margin anyway ... Smile

Nothing else. There is no sensor on the secondary side of the cat.
