Doesn't sound right. I have heard people conplain about the handling but I think mine handles like a dream, much better than I expected. |

What tyres has the vehicle on it, what pressure/s are they at?

well the twitchy it probably me getting used to the "light" steering of the Freelander. Can't recall what tyres are on it atm, and it's not here as my wife is away with it. |

I would have suggested struts possibly for the wallowing, but was it driving like this before the MOT?

Also, does this seem to be worse under braking / acceleration / steady progress? |

any condition really. It was MOT'd when when bought it, so not driven it before it was MOT'd.

It would be my best guess, let us know what you find. At least if it is the strut it's nothing major and that would be good news. When swmbo comes back with it check for tell tale signs of leaking struts as well as the highly technical bounce test |

Right, suspension all seams to check out! I took it for a good spin around our windy lanes, and I think it is more to do with the steering, you can rock the steering wheel side to side whilst driving along without it turning the wheels, and if you do turn it snatches back straight pretty quick, it just feels so light, perhaps it's to do with the semi off road cheap tyres it's fitted with?

I had some Bravus (??) M+S tyres on 3 of my corners, and the dealer stuck a budget road tyre on the nearside front due to uneven wear I noticed on test.

What tyres would you recommend that won't break the bank, mainly road use, but will go off road occasionally towing and whilst pheasant shooting, wife tracking across fields to see me at work etc... |

Have a look on the wheels and tyres thread, lots of comments and opinions on there. I have General Grabber AT 235/65/17 on mine, mainly because Ive had the older AT2 on previous LR1 and found them to be hard wearing, long lasting and a good grip all year round. Plus the AT look nice and chunky. I paid £450 for mine all round fitted. Its down to personal tastes and requirements really. |
