there's a thing, is it likely there will be some sort of gismo to let a non dab radio receive dab signals when this momentous event takes place? MY2014 SD4 XS

What's DAB coverage like these days? Last time I heard it was pretty abysmal once away from the main population centres. |

I live in a countryside village between Hull and the coast, no broken reception at all in travelling the rural area but maybe the flat terrain gives me an advantage. Travelling main route to Cornwall is good also and only notice momentary loss through small towns with high buildings to each side. Pretty well pleased with the reception I'm getting. |

I know the mainstream press were saying in 2009 that December 2015 would be the switch-off date for analogue radio but I don't believe this has been confirmed yet. In fact, The Register (an IT industry online news source) wrote in 2009:

npinks - thanks for the tip. I've managed to locate the control and have killed the irritation. |

The latest proposed date for the switching off FM I saw was 2018 and that seems to have fallen by the wayside too. I don't think there are the same motivations out there as there were for the swtich to DigitalTV, so wouldn't be surprised if it never happens... |
