Yes it had occoured to me on both fronts. Worth looking and gathering knowledge now though, never know when a bargain will appear.

13MY XS deleted front parking sensors,heated front screen and electric seats as standard but did go to full leather!

Watch out for 2011 FL2s hesitation problem. I am not sure that LR have really sorted out the problem and it appears to be temperature dependent so won't show up until spring/summer so get a good warranty.

Cant really say there is anything else that I would really want on my xs, maybe front heated screen would be nice, I did always say I would of wanted the LR satnav but from what I have read seems worse to have it ( in my own opinion ) and now that garmin and tomtom do better 7 inch screens they seem easy to fit

Gota also say its nice to not have the full leather as last summer I didn't get burned once when wearing shorts The 50/50 leather cloth works well

Its all each to there own re what spec you must have, or can live with out ( if it dosnt have it then you can normaly upgrade later on with bolt on parts, rear spoiler, face lift if you get an older one, electric rear view mirror, sat nav )

If you are going to swop drivers a fair bit then it might be worth getting the model with memory seats, so you can just push 1,2 or 3 and it will change the seat and mirrors to suit that driver Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto

Evening all thanks for the great advice. My plans to bide my time may come to an abrupt end very soon. Trying to arrange my crack car buying team to take a road trip sunday if its still there lol. Ive worked in sales 15yrs so im pretty good on price negotiations, but for the is it worth it stuff il take my brother who can spot even the best body repairs at 10 paces and my mechanic mate whos got a good 14 years experience to draw on.

Hopefully itll pan out everyones free and we can get a deal done

Viewed another two today. The first was nice but a lower spec gs, and ive decided i cant live with fabric. The second was a 2010 hse model. Silver all the usual toys except xenons.

Im going back to test drive it Sunday, needs some paint work on corner of front bumper and a couple of touchups but not shabby for its age. 70k on the clock but full main dealer history and 6 month rac warranty. Hopefully it works out 👍

If not ive got a road trip on tuesday to look at a 2009 hst in martinique blue near shepperton and if that dosnt pan out a 2009 xs also in martinique blue near billingshurst. 🙈

If looking at a 10MY (pre facelift) TD4 a very few had a slight tizz/vibration when driving at 70-75mph. Felt when on a slight incline, most noticeable on a motorway on long gradual inclines. Not a steep hill when engine working hard.
No cure. LR factory engineer said characteristic of model. My 2008 never did this nor has my 2011 or current 2013.
Eventually managed to reject it thanks to customer services and inside knowledge I "came by!!!"
Phoned customer services, told them what I knew about fault and that LR engineering new fault, asked how they wanted to proceed, Nice or nasty, 2 hours later offered 2011 facelift SD for £2000. Had done 11k while all arguments going on. No brainer. All FL2's (3) Gone
