New poll on DS as FL2 replacement

As many of us have now had a chance to view and test-drive the new DS, I thought it may be timely to take a fresh poll to assess how well LR have pitched the DS as the FL2 replacement so far! Rolling Eyes Life is not a dress rehearsal!

Being on a fixed retirement income, I am not considering replacing my FL2 any time soon. I moved to FL2s as a tow car, and at that it is very good. When I am finished towing, I may possibly replace it with an "ordinary" car, although I would miss the driving pleasure if not the lack of economy. I have only seen the DS in a showroom - it was a white/black model and looked to be too "bling" to be a proper Land Rover. I have therefore voted confused/undecided. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Bitterly disappointed!

Had more than eight great years with 2 FL2's and planned to replace this spring, I stalk deer and fish in the highlands in some remote locations and the FL2 has been perfect for my needs, how the hell can I use a vehicle with no spare wheel and 7 seats! I really have no idea what to get for my 20,000 miles a year that is so reliable and comfortable, a Disco , RRsport and RRFF are too big, Only the xtrail seems to come close but 4x4 is manual only. Hayho back to my research. Tony

Not for me either. It appears that they are assuming that no one will use it for anything serious and are more interested in selling evoque type things. Which is a pity. I'll be keeping mine for the future, and wait until someone somewhere makes something more interesting.

My local dealer had invited me to a launch day a couple of weeks ago and then cancelled with a couple of days to go as JLR couldn't supply the vehicles!

I saw my first on the road today in Hereford and it looked better than I expected. It was dark red with a black roof which suited it. But then saw a RRS in red/black in the car park which looks better and I have to say more like a LR. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

I have to agree with Tony and Sub.

I don't really go off road, but do I do use the Freelander with winter tyres for hill walking and photography in the remoter parts of the Lake District and Scotland where minor roads are often icy and untreated in Winter.

Having had a puncture, alone in fading light on an icy day when some roads were closed and assistance would have been hours away, the comfort of a bit of self reliance and a full size spare wheel is an absolute requirement for me!

Add "might consider when 5 seat version with new engine and spare wheel option is available" to poll.

My position at moment as I am involved as official at motorsport events and cover many miles off road at weekends. Often have 2 spare with me. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

good idea …. however ..

Good idea Druand, however seems I can't edit the poll options once posted. Sorry! Rolling Eyes

Perhaps you'll have to settle for the "confused / still undecided" option. Life is not a dress rehearsal!

My FL1 has a better command view with the seat in the lowest setting! The DS is a car that is capable off road! Im so glad I went with my gut instinct and ordered a new FL2 when I did and spec'ed it to my needs! MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

That's what I voted, my remark was a comment not a request for an option to be added.

So, the DS has flopped with us! I wonder how it's doing with the BMW/Audi crowd...
