The kit extends the suspension struts giving more ground clearance. but possibly upsetting the suspension geometry and over extending the drive shafts. Only needed for more serious off roading At work |

There is a kit available for Freelie 1 from Scorpion Racing - gives the max of 2" lift as after that on a Freelander1 you need to do all sorts of other mods to the drive train. Even a 2" lift on a F1 introduced quite a few problems with extra wear on components as commented on by CG. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Interesting. Altough the price of 1395 Eur for 26 HP and 60 Nm is sort of high they are offering a 3year/10000Km warranty and TUV certificate and change of power in your car certificate/registration which is rather interesting as it would replace the lost warranty if LR finds out about the remap. Don't know if it's legal inother countries then Germany . As I do not tow or intend to tow it does not seem interesting to me but for caravan towers maybe/ This will surely atract some comments about caravans needed to be towed. It may be as they say that adapting for wider wheels as D3 or RRS will improove comfort (which I find excelent as it is) but it will surely decrease mpg as the cotact surface increases. Nice spot RMB ![]() |

Matzker do same very good stuff for RRS and D3 (and I suppose it could be fitted to a FFRR too) - trick suspension stuff that fools the ECU so you can drive at high speed with the air suspension on access mode or have a super extended offroad height................ as well as doing all the other fancy stuff to enhance the off road or on road performance of the cars.

No I have had no luck at this stage. I have a few tricks up my sleeve though. I am going to take my car to Ritter Automotive in Melbourne, they are Land Rover Specialists and have manufactured alot of their own equipment for other Land Rover models. They have been extremely helpful with everything. I am going to leave my car with them for a day so they can take some measurements etc.. I will keep everyone updated with their progress.

Mainly because here in the UK most rough roads are private and closed to the public or thanks to rambling clubs closed to vehicles as well. So in the UK fitting a lift kit would only be for the serious off road enthusiast. Most of us only use the FL2 on the highway where a lift kit would be a disadvantage. I didn't mean I disapprove of lift kits, just that there arn't many in the UK who would really need then. Good luck in your search. Iceland has a great landscape and they love taking a regular 4x4 and modding them.
