SEAT BACK 'CLICKING'

I have an odd thing going on in the back of my 2010MY HSE leather driver's seat - I have searched but found nothing else on it.

Basically, when I sit back in the seat I get a click / crack noise and I can feel this movement right against my spine.

Normally, I would be tempted to try and remove the leather seat covering to investigate but am reluctant because of the airbags in the seat.

Anybody else had this or got any ideas ? FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Yes, once I can work out what the problem is (and get the parts ordered ! ) then I will start to investigate accessing the area and the airbag ' procedure' which will doubtless involve disconnecting / reconnecting the battery at least once. If necessary, I may have to do that first to investigate - happy days ! FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

It will be a spring that has either snapped or become unhooked.

I had this on mine at a very early stage. It may be as simple as 'hooking' it back on again. I'm only going off what the tech told me, I never actually saw the inside. But I got the same noise/symptoms.

Hope this kind of helps! 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

I finally got round to sorting this out.

I removed the leather seat-back cover and armrest, after having disconnected the battery, - what a pita all that was !

The cause of the problem was that the inflatable lumbar air 'bladder' had moved from its fixings and had slipped down on one side. The clicking noise was the plastic fixing rubbing against part of the metal spring 'frame' that holds the seat-back foam in place. I re-positioned the 'bladder' and now no longer have any clicking and a lumbar support which is in the correct part of my back. Took 2 hours in total. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green
