I had roof rails and bars on my last Freelander and I took the cross bars off as they were noisy.

The cross bars make noise if they are the wrong way round, if the fat side faces forward as per instructions they are quiet. |

The Freelander SD4 SE loaner I collected tonight has roof rails. Noticed them as soon as I got up to a decent speed. No whistle, just a wind noise. Do not get that from my Whispbars. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Came on my first car and soon took them off due to noise, and would never have needed them anyway.

yup, the bar does create a droning noise at speed, worse in some windy conditions when there is a bit of a crosswind. Mildly irritating but not impossible to live with - just |

Constantly run with roof rails, cross bars & bar pads on a permanent basis.
