Jeep Renegade

So the 1940's Willy's Jeep has been rebuilt for the modern world and is to be on sale from the end of this month.

I think it's a bit of a Marmite car, folk will love it or hate it?

I agree, hideous. I particularly hate the grille (on this and all other current Jeeps).

I think that the grill is part of the branding (the seven slots).

Actually I went and looked at a jeep grand Cherokee as a company car back in 1998 the salesman told me that the aim was to destroy the Freelander market. The rest is history..... Rolling with laughter

Yes, I know, but what works on a second world war military vehicle doesn't necessarily work on a modern vehicle - particularly when you bling it up with an acre of chrome! Imagine taking a Series Land Rover inverted-T grille, interpreting it in chrome and then sticking it on a modern LR. No thanks!

Love it or loath it, Land Rover can learn a thing or two. They can be specced with the trail hawk pack which gives it a bit more off road credibility. Not that it has much. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Any off road video available yet ?

Price and kit look reasonable

And at these prices there is no LR model to compete.

But as said love it or hate it !

I was reading up on them and by ALL accounts, the off-road ability is fantastic in every single review. Must admit, I wasn't expecting that but I never once found anyone in any article criticising it? Not all had the specced up Trail-Hawk edition either.

Maybe a bit of a dark horse?

The baby Discovery needs to take note. It's not much to look at but it looks good fun off road. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I don't think it looks too bad for a little car - a bit like a Yeti and tons better than an Evoque! Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

As an off road instructor said, when you know how to drive off road, there's not much between any 4x4 providing the ground clearance is there, it's when you can't that the differences become apparent Sad my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

I think you need to find a different off-road instructor!

Off-road review of the Renegade now available here: http://youtu.be/F8KX2h1WWng

It does seem pretty competent off road.
