Thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately ( I don't know if you can tell on the pic) but its distorted the shape andwhen I push it togetherit only goes so far then springs back out. I was wondering whether I could heat it and force it back into shape though. R. Simon |

Just broken mine but much worse. If it's got a puddle light and memory etc... Your looking at £190 plus VAT for the part. It's simple enough to replace yourself if your able to use basic tools and are patient. Unfortunately the whole door card has to be removed to get at the bolts. I've done the drivers side before and now looks like I'm going to be doing the passenger side after the new year. Second hand units are available but still cost around £100 and most are badly marked. New for me unless I can find a mint one elsewhere . |

It hasn't got the puddle lights. Just basic blackbody. I think i'll try the hot air technique tomorrow. Then if that doesn't work will go for the cheapest new one I can find and have a go myself. Got to be better than the £300 my dealer quoted. Thanks. R. Simon |

it might be worth taking it off and stripping it down, you may find that something has "popped off" internally.

Try Dan@Duckworth Parts he'll source you a replacement that is right for your vehicle. He just needs your VIN to make sure he sends the right one. Certainly less than £300 from what I recall. |

My2011 XS had the mirror smashed by a driver who temporarily came into my side of the road on rainy night.

I wouldn't class folding your mirrors in an 'emergency'

I changed the door mirror on the MIL's Fiesta a couple of days ago, her house moved as she reversed along the side of it, non Powerfold £96 inc Vat, didn't need the mirror cover, just as well as that would have been another £76, the days of its just a mirror don't worry about it are long gone. |
