United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

I'm running in TD4 XS Auto MY2011 bought last year.

Have been getting to and from work betweetn 27-32 MPG. not great.

Suddengly car develops a read diff problem for the last 3 weeks and booked in for Dec.

Strange thing, now getting between 33 and 40.5 for the same run i do every day...go figure! Shocked

..or don't go figure... does this mean the 4x4 is not operating and running as 2 wheel drive, hence better fuel economy?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

Having had the car for a few months I am getting at least 38 mpg, it's all country lanes round here so pleased thus far. I think for what I paid, the performance, amount of kit and level of comfort makes it a bargain. Smile

my previous XS returned around 36mpg for the 9 weeks I had it

The HSE SD4, the Trip B has never been reset from day 1
so 6893 miles later the average MPG has been 27mpg

the Trip A I reset returns around 33Mpg

just interesting to see the overall over 6k miles

what type of journey are you doing?

Long steady speeds, or start stop city driving?

i would say the offroad tyres will not help either if you have them Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Just accept it, drive it and enjoy it, my indication is set to 'miles left until empty' and I then fill up again, stress free Thumbs Up

Keep the revs below 2k, above this and the gauge drops, light throttle, do not keep pressing the loud peddle, keep it still. Do not trust the OBC, do it tank to tank, noting the mileage and fuel used at the pump.
