Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Firenze Red

I don't understand why people are bitch that there isn't any luggage space when the 7 seats are used in the DS . I have had 2 ford galaxy's , mk2 & a mk3 , proper 7 seat cars , yet when all 7 seats in both cars where used there wasn't much luggage space. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

I agree. This is a 5 + 2, not a 7 seater. 2 extra 'occasional' seats. I have no use for them, but it wouldn't stop me buying the car.

I am not bitching, I was just hoping for some practicality when in 5+2 mode such as room for a pram and some underfloor storage. I Feel like L R are pushing me out of functional ownership and trying to put me in a handbag.

I really hope that when I am ready to buy another car there will be a 5 seat DS option with a full size spare wheel recess.

There already is if you live pretty much anywhere but the UK. It has a higher towing limit too. Crazy that it's not available here!

As I said I had 2 proper 7 seat cars and with 7 seat up there was no way that I put a pram in the boot too. I think you want / expect too much . How big would a car need to be to have 7 seats and a boot big enough to take luggage for , let's say 5 adults? I think they call it a transit van .. Maybe bitching was a bit strong , sorry . Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

My grand picasso takes 7 people plus dog, pram and luggage for weekend. Im not expecting too much from a car twice the price.

A Ferarri costs helluva lot more and can only fit two people in it, horses for courses.

Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Current FL is an18 months old 2014my GS Auto and is my 4th FL2, so DS will be 18 months on the road when my FL is 3 years. New generation diesel should be available by then or some good deals on ex demo/year old ex LR ones.
I would only consider an auto so choices are limited. Drove various makes looking to update 2nd car and could not believe how poor some were. Peugeot 2008 was like being the "back shelf nodding donkey" at every change, CVT models drink fuel and performance is poor. We were wanting something that sits higher hence Peugeot 2008 but settled for a C Class Merc with dual clutch auto as is FL. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

I hate to be nit picky , but I have just looked at a picture of a grand Picasso with 7 seats up . What kind of dog was in the boot area ? Anything bigger than a poodle would be cruel. What kind of pram ? Please don't say one of these wee daft things that fold flat that even a doll doesn't look safe in.
My galaxy's had a bigger boot space and I wouldn't have put my cat in that space. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

My D4 has no useable boot space when all 7 seats are up.

Back on topic, I would even consider an X1 Embarassed. Oh I've embarrassed my self now. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

'Purplemadboy', we should probably start a new thread on people carriers😄

Springer (small). McLaren globetrotter, 2011 model in grey. But my bigger older pram also went in with rear wheels off. And I got a balance bike in. Remember all three middle row seats move independent of each other meaning you can creat room between them and the + 2 passengers. You can squeeze a lot in. (It has 4 glove boxes in the dash and 2 more in the floor). Bit like a tardis.

I know it's probably not the car to compare against the DS but i was considering losing my fl2 and g4picasso and getting just a new DS. I may see what the next land rovers are as they may provide the right car for me.
