Due to the aircraft having visited France during the day and getting caught up in the snow problems there it was delayed taking me from Jersey to Gatwick, so Gatwick car park was -5 at 11pm and the FL2 was covered in ice when I got to it. The glow plug symbol did illuminate during starting.

It was -4 this morning & the car had not been run for 2 days. Pressed start, glow plug coil indicator lit for a few seconds whilst there was the start delay, starter engaged, started fine but showed a momentary HDC failure warning. Normal start as far as I am concerned. NB: I have ordered a second earth lead to fit as per the "oldgeezer" saga. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Looking at the stats on this thread, it seems to be the ones with models up to 09 see very little of the Glowplug Warning, whereas the later models light the Glowplug Warning, which seems to be what I had with mine, the 07 didn't light up but the MY11 one did. Both started ok, just a delay from when pressing the Start Button to the commencing of Cranking, colder it was, the longer the delay. |

Earlier this week after not driving the car for few days and a period of cold weather we counted how long the glowplug light came on and before the car started - we counted to 'four-thousand' (as in one-thousand, two-thousand, etc!). Quite a long time.
