FL2 Fire

It's always nice when Land Rover take your car in to be fixed, then return it without fixing it but in the mean time give me a loan car that catches fire and explodes on the driveway. Nice one land rover, keep up the good work.

I was very glad it was not mine.
This happened a month ago now, I was not going to mention it on the forums dependent on how Land Rover dealt with it. As I was told I would be refunded for damaged items inside such as two child seats which I am yet to receive any money for then people can know about it.

So don't leave your kids in the car as this looks like an electrical fire (thats what the fire brigade said and arson is unlikely as they would have been lost to find my house in the middle of the day whilst walking past the farmer and a big loud dog).

The horn and alarm went off and then smoke came from where the bonnet meets the window on the passenger side shortly followed by flames and then followed by lots and lots of flames.

Ans a very damaged driveway that I am claiming off MY house insurance for.

The car is with a forensic team, yet to be examined.

No one was in the car, i had just done the school pick up, it was parked for about 1 hr 20 minutes before it went up. (Most people I know who have FL2s leave there kids asleep in them), glad I don't.

I do have a lot of the car left in my skip on the drive, i am waiting for land rover to pick this up but i don't think they are interested. I don't think any chrome knobs are in there though.

Have you gone on the dealers insurance or your own?

You could be asked to stump up the excess

I would claim for your driveway to be professional cleaned and treated, God knows what nasty chemicals could have melted into it which could be a health hazard to you and your kids

At least it's just a car and nobody was hurt and luckily far enough away from your house too Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
