Update. LR have been looking for a Freelander 2 for us and they only have 3 left in the country which are auto, as much as I would like and auto the missus doesn't. So basically they have no new freelander 2 manuals.. So they have suggested an evoque which are equal in price as the Freelander's they were suggesting.

Might be worth getting her in doors to drive the FL2 auto version if she hasn't already as that may chage her mind? |

Still without my car back and debating an evoque. Have been offered 4k off of a broad new stock pure tech. With depreciation on them so slow and the lack of any brand new Freelander's, it looks as though we have no choice and with the offer difficult to turn down, it looks as though I'm off once again.
