mine is a 2009 without DPF, so go for that, ie as new as you can afford without DPF.

Beware of those that have had the DPF removed. VOSA are really hot on it now and it will fail the MOT test if a vehicle has had theirs removed. We had a special notice recently warning that if any MOT stations that carry out repairs are found offering to remove/bypass a DPF, they will lose their licence to test!

The OP is in Norway, so different rules may apply.

Most people with DPFs seem to be having no problems with them, so all other things being equal probably the newer the better. Mileage is an important factor too, as is overall condition and specification. I'd be looking for a good recent, low mileage example.

I think DPF is only an issue if you do lots and lots of short journeys with no longer ones at all.

The only time mine showed a FULL message was when it was left for an MOT and they must of had it idling for a long time trying to warm it. The message cleared on a run an hour later. Also, its normal fast A-road / dual carriageway / motorway driving that clears it, nothing special, just cruising in top gear did it.

I'm on my 2nd with a DPF to be fair, if I didn't know it was there I wouldn't know, none have been a problem, mainly doing short journeys, many only a couple of a miles. Occasionally the exhaust sounds a little throaty (nice though) on the Disco when its doing a regen but that's it.
