Top up oil

I checked my oil level the other day and it's down a wee bit , what's the best oil to use? Obviously I'm just looking to buy a litre.
I should add I need to get it from halfords, I got £100 gift voucher for my birthday so I'm trying to find stuff to buy, so any other ideas to spend the cash on ie polish, shampoo or anything else Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Afraid you wont find any suitable oil in Halfords, you need oil that conforms to Ford spec M2C 934-B which is a low saps oil for use on vehicles with DPF. Millers do a suitable oil or try Opie oils.

That doesn't meet the spec for a DPF vehicle, as said you need 5W-30 meeting Ford Spec 934-B.

The Forum sponsor 'OPIE' will supply.

No, that ones specifically for VAG PD engines, need the correct Ford spec oil

Having been unsuccessful in finding the right spec elsewhere I decided to play safe and went to the dealer. It might have been a couple of quid more than Halfords, but it is the recommended Castrol Edge of the correct spec. And what's a couple of quid when you paid out £30k for the car?

I looked up the oil on the "opie" website , signed up and put in that I was a member of this forum , including delivery it came to just under £15.50. I thought that was a bit steep so I found this http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-acce...mp;cc5_247 , so much for for opie Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

...so much for Opie Oils? Without their sponsorship there wouldn't be a forum Rolling Eyes

Fair enough taz re the forum , but I don't use price matching , if a company can't give their best price off the bat I don't use them. I use the company that gives their best price in the first place. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Doesn't seem that unreasonable to me...
