GAP Diagnostic – new products announcement

Hi Everyone

My name is Patrick and I am part of the team here at GAP Diagnostic. Since 2011, we’ve been working on developing and providing diagnostic solutions for Land Rover owners. As of now, we are covering Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery vehicles. We offer the regular IIDTool and IIDTool BT for individual usage. The second one is fitted with a Bluetooth Smart transceiver and allows connecting a mobile device (phone, tablet) to the tool. For more details, please visit our website at:

http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/

We are now in the process of adding more vehicles to the supported list. This also implies that the IIDTool BT and IIDTool Pro will now enter a new beta testing phase in the coming weeks for the following vehicles:

• Freelander 2/LR2 L359
• Range Rover L405
• Range Rover Sport L494
• Range Rover Evoque L538

Since these vehicles were not supported previously, we are now looking for new beta testers to join and participate in polishing the firmwares. Upon joining, new members will receive close support throughout and also benefit from our pre-sale offer.

On release, the following functions will be supported:

Standard diagnostic functions (not VIN locked, works on all supported models, L319,L320,L322,L359,L405,L494,L538)
• Faults read / clear (All ECU’s)
• Live values
• Control outputs
• Service / test functions (service interval reset, electronic parking brake functions etc)

Enhanced diagnostic functions ( VIN locked, extra VINs are available if needed):
• Component and system calibration (including suspension height adjustments, when air suspension Is fitted to the vehicle)
• Car Configuration File editing capability (for example, activate the cruise control after retrofitting the switches)
• Advanced functions including backup / restore, save profiles – vehicle system settings and
configurations are read and stored as a backup file for a restore function, various changes
to systems (e.g. suspension height) can be stored and changed quickly

More functions will be added as development progresses, including ECU re-flash.
Also, since only an IIDTool BT fitted with a Bluetooth transceiver is available for these vehicles, it will have to be used in conjunction with one of the following devices:

•iPad Mini
•iPad 3rd gen and up
•iPhone 4S, 5 and up
•iPod Touch 5 and up
•Android devices (please contact us whit your device specs to know if it is supported

If you would like to join or have any questions, please send us an e-mail at the following address GAPTeam AT gap-diagnostic.com or reply to this post.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone

Units have been in beta testing for a few weeks now and so far so good! There are still a few spots available before they go on sale in the coming weeks if anyone's interested.

Cheers

Sounds like a good idea, the hawkeye I cuurently use will not interface any other vehicle, so I have t carry a generic reader as well. Shame about the lack of windows support, some of us don't get on with Apple. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Hi Arragon

Thanks for your interest.

The tool for Freelander 2 is actually available now thru the normal distribution channels. Any IIDTool BT will work since they all share the same firmware platform

Cheers

United States 2008 LR2 i6 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

I'm curious if there are any plans for any further development for LR2's L359? I recently bought a brand new Gap IID tool, and though I like it, I can't say that I love it since it seems like only a small portion of the features are available for our cars. I would love the ability to flash at least some of the ECU's at no additional charge (already dropped over $500 for the tool). It just seems fairly limited overall, except for a few interesting CCF modes.
