Scotland 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Stornoway Grey
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) - Freelander 2 SD4 (2011

Does anyone know if there is anywhere else, e.g., in the engine bay, where the VIN is stamped on a 2011 FL2 SD4?

Handbook says:
The VIN is stamped on a plate which is visible through the lowest part of the left side of the windscreen.

I had my FL inspected today by the Irish National Car Testing Service (NCT) so I could register it with Irish plates and they seemed to think that the VIN plate visible from the windscreen is insufficient (!) and it should be stamped somewhere else. (It did n't help either that this model is too new for their database!)

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Just below/under the rear seats, under some sponge, on the front upper edge/lip of the spare wheel's well.
