I'm considering fitting a tank guard. .and maybe a sump one too - I can only see mantec megabucks ones, but wondered if anyone knew of other suppliers, or had tried to negotiate on a group buy?

I got a s/h one from eBay £99.99 with out the fitting kit
I got a new fitting kit with instructions from mantec I think I paid about £67 ?
I still need the sump guard checking eBay daily

From what I remember when fitting the Tank guard there are two nuts welded onto small plates which need to be poked down a box section so that bolts can be screwed through an existing hole into that box section. It took me ages to try to line up the nut with the hole until I worked out I could put a cable tie around the nut and use the tail of the cable tie to jiggle the nut into position. If anyone's thinking of fitting one of these that's my top tip

If anyone would have the instructions on how to fit the tank guard I'd be very grateful. Got one sh from eBay (including brackets which is very rare) but obviously no instructions. I not got instructions, but from memory the rear mounts the 3 hole bracket is on the left rear
Front just slide the nut plates in , line up hole with a screw driver or something small
Fit the guard lose jake up the guard till the back mounts are tight to bottom of car then do up all bolts etc

Well I managed to source a second hand mantec sump guard... looks the business, both aesthetically and mechanically - only problem its a pre 07 version - I did consider grinding off the fixings and reweld them in the correct place, but I think it will be shortly for sale when I come to my senses!!! 2000 Xei 1.8 gone
