It's the brackets that usually bend, this moves the tank guard up. Every time I start the engine there is a thump as the exhaust contacts the guard. Also the guard fills with mud/clay, the heat from the exhaust bakes the clay, so even if everything is relatively strait the exhaust still contacts something solid. You will be surprised how heavy the tank and sump guards are when filled with inches of baked mud A 10 ton capacity body jack will straiten the brackets in situ, but can't find a way of straitening the center of the guard in situ, and it laughs when I try a sledge hammer. be carefull with the Mantec sumguards - unless stated they dont fit the later MY13 cars - the mounting points are totally different

I have fitted Mantec Tank guard on my MY15 with no problems, it depends on the brackets. So make sure you got the correct accesoire Kit |
