The land rover tow bars was manufactured by either Brink or Thule. Yours will be the Thule as you have the narrow gap between the two bolt mounts.

It's not the detachable variety, could well be the Swan Neck variety, as opposed to the flange type, either way, it's the Brink/Thule part your after. |

Yours is the Brink/Thule Detachable type, if it were me, knowing thet they have changed the design a couple of times, I would try and get the complete Towball and Reciever, it's only two bolts that hold the Receiver on, you won't be able to get them as a seperate unit unless you can pick up a used one from someone. |

Thule/Brink only sell through their approved tow bar fitters. Approach a local one and get a price. Or try PF Jones. It will cost you over £100 though. For that money of course you could pick up a perfectly good complete used bar off the 'bay - and it could be a Witter! (which, IMO, is better)

Delighted to say after a lovely drive to Devon today I met 3disco and purchased my missing part. He even loaned me his tools to fit it whilst I was there and served coffee and biscuits! What a pleasure to meet a fellow Freelander 2 owner through this forum.

Thanks for the information. I will call my local Thule dealer and ask him if I can get the complete Towball and Reciever. If not I will try what dunkley201 suggested – ebaj and search for a Witter |

If you can find someone who is selling the identical bar, you will only need to swap the Reciever with the Towball, no need to change the complete one. |

Thanks ad210358. I was searching over the weekend for someone who is selling the identical bar - no such luck. So the local dealer is next step |

I would also vote for 3Disco and his hospitality. Helped me out with a radio and tour of his workshop. Hope his leg is getting better. Dennis |
