Reject or Not

I believe I have 30 days or 1000 miles to reject my car

Although Land Rover Tech say there is nothing wrong with it, I still cant get my head round the fact it's applied DSC/ABS to me for no apparent reason

In all my years of towing with the FL2 I have never had it react like it did.

If it was really windy and bad towing conditions, i could live with their explanation the the DSC was doing its job

But to tow in clear none windy conditions on motorway roads, what's the car going to be like come a time when its windy Question Am i going to be sat on the hard shoulder as the car, can't cope with a bit of swaying never mind a gust of wind and a wobble

I honestly don't know what to do, try again and end up been past my 30 days and mileage and left in limbo land

if this was normal, i would have thought numerous members would have jump up to say "mine does that" or "it the car doing its job don it to me"

Having a car that the spec you want is great but when you don't trust it is another thing all together and how do i know its not going to do it again, but worse Big Cry

I take it it only does it when towing ?

and if so did the Landrover mechanic drive it under tow conditions ?

Iain

ps sorry I didn't see your previous posts detailing the mechanics diagnosis, etc

I don't believe they have towed with it, well not my caravan anyway

part of me thinks it could have been a freak occurrence (twice in 10 mins)

part of me thinks I need to tow again and see the outcome, but this puts me passed the 30 day, in fact I am past the 30 day as the car was in prior and the day past in their possession.

also according to the used car search, there is only HSE Lux with double the mileage and cost more than what i paid

at this stage I think you only option is to tow again and log the results, especially if you can get some of the action on your camera again.

i have to say i think the same, I should tow again

BUT!!

that puts me passed the rejection criteria and then even more out of pocket as i will have to part-ex and buy down at Audi,BMW, Volvo, etc if it does it again

They have said this is normal, so i can't see them investigating it again and if it is normal, then surely my exchange will do the same, even if this is purely normal for me and nobody else experiences this, so I go round in circles and keep ending up at whats the point in swapping if they'll all do it.

I have offered them camera footage, not interested, instead they ask loads of questions the video could have answered for them

Reject it.

They won't like that, and may be negotiable on an extended acceptance period to convince you that it's OK.

i think the extended acceptance period needs agreeing, on the grounds of retesting the car towing

then take it from there

Your running out of time, tell them your rejecting it now, before is hits your pocket anymore, it is not normal, just because they cannot find a problem, does not mean it's not there.

Rejecting a car is a bit of a minefield and not as straightforward as other goods in many cases.
I can be further complicated if you have finance on it as they may also see the finance company as part owner.

There is much discussion on the Disco Forum on this topic , so I would advise having a read .
Here is one such thread http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic102389.html Cheers Ian

The finance company can help you also being a part owner. You could speak to them also, let them know what's going on.

Strange one this, I have towed with mine on maybe 4 times this year, 3 of them being long journeys and not any issue.

Have you tried re-setting the car? Also what type of electrics have you got? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
