Service then MOT or vice versa

My MY2011 TD4 is due its 4th service mid-December and it will be done by MMP Land Rover, thanks to recommendations from here.

However, the MOT is due mid November. Although I'm not aware of any issues, would you get it serviced a month early before the MOT or just MOT in November and then service in December?

Edit: I have some odd MOT warranty thing that came with my used LR warranty. Seems to suggest any MOT fails would be paid for. Anyone ever used this?

You could do your service at same time of your MOT, I know that would mean you have a service a month early but would it save you the hassle of two trips to the garage to sort your car our?

My service and MOT was the other way round this year, I pushed my service on 3 weeks so I could do the MOT at the same time, but my car is out of warranty and I use an indy. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

The guy I'm using to service is a mobile Land Rover tech so don't think he can do MOTs.

I have a used LR warranty but the guy is VAT registered so it should be ok.

I'm purely wondering if a service first would lower the risk of any MOT failures, however unlikely that may be.

having it serviced first would help the smoke test, as well as picking up any possible fail items.

Also Iain, if you're at all interested, based on your location, the guy I'm using for my service, who was recommended on this site and sponsors one of the Discovery or Defender site, is doing my B service for £250+VAT. Best price I could find. If you find MMP Land Rover on Facebook you'll find him there.
