Landrover assistance?

I wonder If anyone who has had there FL2 for a while now has had anything from Landrover Assistance? i.e. a membership pack or breakdown card.

All other makes I have had before sent out a breakdown recovery /assistance membership card, but Landrover don’t seem to have anything more than a number in the handbook
Question

Landrover assistance

David,
i was told by the dealer not to expect any stuff from LR assistance ( cards etc)
all we need do ( & I did & it worked) is call the number in the handbook
& tell them what the problem is.
I called them out & within an hour was back on the road.

All I received when I collected my FL 2, nearly three months ago was a verbal explanation by the Salesman and the LR Assist telephone number.

Just last week I received a letter from my dealer summarising the benefits of an Accident Aftercare scheme and a membership card. This scheme only covers accidents, not breakdown recovery.

A booklet describing the detailed benefits of the LR Assist scheme would be useful. Confused

There was a reply card in my pack for LR Assistance (along with the plastic card), which said that a welcome pack would be sent to me. I only posted it last week, so nothing yet.

I phoned Landrover assistance and everyone should have a membership pack sent out virtually straight away with their membership card in etc.

If anyone wants to get the pack that has never turned up you can phone
0500 011 936 and they will get it in the post.

I received my membershipcard from Landrover assistance this week (through the postwomen). Have the car since end of January ! Luckily I didn't need it during this period. Enjoyed every minute of using the car even with the minor troubles (start and cracks).

So, I would still need my AA cover along side this free cover for three years?

A bit confused with what this offers. My literature says it offers free roadside assistance for three years.

Thanks for any clarification. I shall ring them Monday also.

You do not need AA cover - LR Assistance comes with car and applies in UK and Europe.

I have used it in past on my Disco without problems - thankfully not on FL2.

You just ring assistance number and give reg of vehicle, name and location.

My FL2 had card in glovebox with Tel No - all you need. Thumbs Up

and for european travel :-

That's great thanks for the quick reply.

Looking at my AA cover here says I'm paying £50 for Roadside cover only.

Can you still confirm I'm as well to cancel my AA cover?

Cheers,

my understanding is you only need the LR Assist number for UK & Europe.

That's the theory, have not had to use it !!!

Are they as able to give quick assistance as the AA though for example?

At this rate I shall be cancelling my AA cover in the morning. Nick Jones

I got a LR assistance card with my new FL2. LIke earlier posts have already said, as long as you have the phone number you do not need the card as the LR Assistance just need your reg plate when you call, all FL2's have 3 years warranty so the date of registration will confirm to them whether or not you are covered.

Same type of assistance was in place with my BMW, had a card but on 3 occassions I called them I was never asked for it - just the vehicle reg.

Regarding AA cover - I would cancel as you are paying for something that you are already getting from LR for free!! Just remember to rejoin when your vehicle is 3 years old!
