Okay, ideas on who to remove the rear spoiler.

I take it the hairdryer and dental floss method?

I just used heavy nylon fishing line, the floss kept snapping and was a real pain, I also struggled to remove the residue of the VHB tape from the bodywork, just a pain but then I'm impatient with tasks like that.

Gently with the line as it can cut into the spoiler too

If your changing the car for another FL2 then take it off, if selling it on I would leave it on, it makes the sale easier if private.
I ended up using petrol and a credit card to get the glue off, it wasn't for shifting and is a real pita job.

No, part exchanging it for a new BMW.

The 67mpg combined, £30 tax, 5 year servicing pack for £375 and me needing new tyres all round for the FL swung it.

Could have had a new FL SE at £24.5k OTR, but with the running costs and the possibility that second hand prices will drop off a cliff did it for me and wasn't prepared to spend £33k for a basic Evoque for a run around.

Taz, yes, I don't disagree with you, but the FL is needing Tyres,£400, Servicing/MOT in March £350 plus, tax £265?, AA membership £130 and the FL uses double the juice of the BMW and on 8,000 miles a year, that's a saving of £750 a year and your crossing your fingers nothing goes wrong with it, which at 6 years old is a gamble. So in year one that's a saving of over £1,890. If I held onto it, I certainly wouldn't get that back on it, so it would be money down the drain.

I like the FL, but haven't been off road nor used the TC or any of the other things in 3 years because of the weather. 99% of the time, it's not more than 15 miles from home.

ITs hard finding Buckingham blue stuff. My other idea was to fit a black one then get black air vents and some other black parts but might look to odd. Will your spoiler be going in the for sale section once removed?

Hi, probably.

The new car will be ready before the end of the month.

I've had a look in the garage and will probably sell the spoiler, a set of Xenons, Napa steering wheel, mats, fog lights, chrome gear surround, rear seat entertainment system, retractable parcel shelf, spare tyre, front PDC, hazard buttons, Traction Control dial assembly and more.

Not sure if the side steps are worth removing or not. Good nick, but don't want to have to replace the plastics.

Rear spoiler removed. Your right, the dental floss snapped. Fishing line did it, but the residue was stubborn. Sticky Stuff Remover and a credit card eventually took it off and then a polish to the area it was fitted to, now you wouldn't think anything had been there.
