I tried queuing for the 5 when it came out but gave up. I stuck out like a sore thumb in the Lakeside Apple store queue two years ago - Friday prayers were obviously forgotten on that day!

Steve, might well be worth checking your order status. Like you, I ordered last Friday directly with Apple, with an identical delivery date of the 29th, however having checked this morning online, mine shipped yesterday for delivery Monday. Worth a check Foraging near Gaydon....

Now considering the 16GB model. My iPhone 5 is 16GB and after a bit of a clear out of apps I don't use etc, I still have 4GB storage left. The 64GB has an upfront cost of £70 on the tariff I want whereas the 16GB is only £10. Not sure £60 is good value for an extra 48GB LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I think it's worth it. You never know what apps you will be using in 6 months time and 4Gb might not be enough. For example on my 16gb iPad I had to delete some pictures, videos and apps because I needed 4.7 Gb free just to download and install IOS 8! |

True but an interesting point raised about iOS8. I didn't have enough space for it even after the clear out as it needed over 4GB of space but then I discovered that if you connect your phone to your computer and do the update via iTunes, the lack of space becomes irrelevant! Nope. Nuffink! I'll just have to wait. Just checked on the Apple website and now the expected shipping date is now 3-4 weeks! Let us all know how you get on with it. Tomorrow morning. You bastard! Update: Just had email. It's now coming on the 25th. |
