Agree with gingerlord regarding dew claws.
When they work at shoots, they go through all sorts of thick undergrowth at amazing speed. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Tail and dew claws done on Rupert

His decided he doesn't like his Skinners Puppy food so half a 20kg bag left and had to buy another brand,

Opted for James Wellbeloved Fish and Rice biscuits and giving him a 1:2 ration on them to swap over

Bloody Pets at home, bag had oil on it, only held against my new Paramo Jacket and stained it Evil or Very Mad just waiting on P at H customer Service to call back as if the stain doesn't come out they will be replacing the jacket Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

+1 on the above. We always mix something in with it too - scrambled egg, dog meat, sardines etc. We normally order our James Wellbeloved from www.fetch.co.uk. Normally cheaper than most places, usually delivered next day by Ocado and often there's 15-20% vouchers available if you search around. Thumbs Up

We did leave it all day, swapping it for new, but about two weeks ago started leaving 15/20 mins then it went, till next feed but he still didn't eat it next time round,

He would eat it all if we added sardines/tuna

Seems to like the JWB though, I quiet like the fact they have a few flavours also, so going to wean him on to that and have a couple of carver dog biscuits holders on the go to give him a variety Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I agree, but don't think it should be every day

Bought some JWB puppy pouches too, for weekly treats Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Just got back in after doing something I wanted to do for ages

Took him on his first proper walk Bow down

No pulling, kept to heel, and went really well until a Beagle woofed at him then he was nervous, but I gave him a good pat and carried on as normal.

Shame he peed on the kitchen floor upon returning Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Ha ha.
After a short time, he'll look forward to a good walk. And when he get a bit older, he'll want a run, and lots of it!
This is where training come into it's own. I'm no Mo Farrow by any means, but my Collies need miles and miles.
So I walk 3-4 miles with them and use the whistle while they cover some 15 miles of running and walking.
When the weather gets colder, 30 miles isn't unusual.
Never fed them on dry, I use wet for the moisture content as they are so active.
Pilchards or sardines every week mixed in, they love it. And Sunday dinner same as us minus spuds and red wine! Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I was told never to give our dog 'normal' human gravy - too much salt apparently. I sometimes buy special dog gravy to mix with her food.

My one absolutely loves ......Chickens feet! Used to buy them from the pound shop, 4 for a pound but they sell out as soon as they come in. Went half last time on a 2KG box with the breeder, cost us a tenner each. She sits on the line between the Lounge and the Dining room when we are eating (not allowed in kitchen/diner when we are eating) and as soon as we start clearing up she comes in. I then, (like a kid with a sweety box) open the big tupperware box with feet in and let her choose a foot. She sticks her nose in the box and looks around before choosing wisely and then trots off outside to devour it. Laughing
