Last winter mine did the same a few times (apart from the battery warning), but only at a junction after I had driven about 0.5 miles from a cold start.... Scary when you are pulling out onto a busy A road!

Hi all those that replied perhaps i did not explain well.
The car only as no or very low revs when starting and engine warm/never from cold.
after a few seconds the revs pick up and away it goes.
as i stated it only happens on starting engine never at junctions roundabouts etc.
It did happen a couple of times last year but now happening more frequently. 57 reg GS leather seats panoramic sun roof

slow throttle body response on start up? They have been known to gunge up and/or strip teeth?

Hi! I have a question to all of you with this problem. (From time to time I have had it too.)
Can you turn on the head lights before the engine responds on the throttle, or does they stay off until the engine revs normally? (In Norway the lights are set to switch on as soon as the car starts, but in many other country I believe you have to turn on the driving lights manually.)
On my 2007 HSE the lights switch on at the same moment the throttle respond - after about 5 sec.
Do you all have xenon lights, or is it halogen on the GS model?

My 'problem' is different from Ironduke's, and I would think that my halogen lights would have been off when the lack of response happened - so no connection.

Ok, thank you. I am tracing if this is actually coming from the body controller and not the engine controller (ECU)
My "problem" is that the fault has more or less dissapeard - haven't had it in several weeks now. Replaced the engine ECU for test, but I still had this issue with the new ECU.
