Hello someone help me please. Ive got no leaks from the matrix or aircon but when i put the fans on white mist enters the car. Also when i turn it to hot the screen mistd up straight away....any ideas from someone smart? thanks

Is it smoke or some sort of mist

With your screen misting up on hot, I'm thinking leak on the aircon system

Are your foot wells wet ?

no is def not gas or antifreeze. its like dry ice type mist no smell or anything.

Blocked drains or areas in the matrix on AC system allowing condensed water to build up which is turning to water vapour and blown out the vents on start up.

I often get windscreens misting fully up on start up ( after being left off for short periods ) but then clearing shortly after when the AC has been set on.

Don't worry it's perfectly normal. I have had plenty of cars that do the same
I assume it only lasts for less than 30 seconds then nothing after that and only when you start up or put the air con on

If none of the above carry a fire extinguisher

Can't explain technically what it is but trust me I have experienced this in more than 10 cars.
Generally on warmer days when I turn the air con on for the first drive of the day - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

Had it before and it's very dramatic. On mine it turned out to be a blocked drain pipe from the air con behind the small panel on transmission tunnel on driver's side: mechanic who did it for me took panel off and just squeezed the flexible pipe which made a load of crap fall out under car and that was that. He did say that if you do it make sure car hasn't been running as there are some hot pipes in there! Hope that helps? 2011 SD4 HSE Auto

What D-Man says is correct.
There is a panel to the front of the centre console on the drivers side. There is one screw to remove, easy to see, and the rest of the panel is held in place by clips. Give the panel a few tugs and remove it.
You should now see a black rubber pipe, squeeze it a few times and it should vent condensation under the car.
That should cure the misting problem  Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

As a non member of this forum I found the answer to my problem on this thread using a Google search. A few squeezes of the tube and a lot of gunge came out from underneath. I have signed up to thank those above for the simple solution saving a no doubt expensive visit to my local garage in Avignon.

Just a little note for those with the steering wheel on the left. Regardless of which side your steering wheel is on, the access panel is on the right of the transmission tunnel. Much simpler for left-hookers!
