Advise on protection modifications for a Labrador

Evening,

I recently purchased my brand new Metropolis which now has a 1000 miles on it and still very happy with the car other than a few issues in particular fuel consumption! Anyway, I and the Mrs Have found that our Labrador has started to scratch the rear plastic plate of the car and we are concerned its a matter of time before she catches the bumper. On every occasion the dog goes into the car we use a blanket over the bumper and a waterproof sheet covering the LR boot mat and dog guard.

However the scratches have appeared through the blanket and the sheet which has made me wonder what else I can try?
I have seen a metal protection plate on EBay but not sure whether this is the best suitable solution.

Appreciate anyone's views? But getting rid of the dog is not the answer I'm looking for? Smile

Regards

Ben

Our wee dog does the same, ended up buying one of these with the bumper protector (boot buddy)

Its not cheap, but worth every penny.

I used this a lot cheaper than anything else. Easy to remove and hose down, just cut it to size to cover back and go over bumper. you specify the length, if not wide enough just overlap two pieces and what is more it is non slip. I do have a dog cage to keep the dog in as well but I am more than pleased with the product

Bumper covers (stick on type) are ok until dirt get under and bumper covers are not that easy to remove if my memory is correct, not ideal if wanting to sell the vehicle later on. We also use it for inside the cage as it is non slip

Lintran are excellent transporters but so overpriced it is not woth getting unless you transport pets for a business. In the previous post above £480 is just crazy price to pay.

My method price from £1.65 Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner

I use a custom covers boot liner that has a flap that folds out over the bumper

I use Forum Sponsors Trans K9 boot crate, keeps the mess in it, instead of the boot, they give a rubber bumper protector too, which flaps down

before that, i used to have a custom cover boot protector like above, it rises up 12" at the front, sides and rear, the front unzips at each side and drops down to be a protector

Though i don't use my now, i'm keeping it, as they are strongly made and great for tip runs too, been water proof Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I didn't realise Transk9 were a sponsor? Do we get any type of deal with them? I can't see them on the sponsors page?

they are a sponsor on Disco3/4 and RRSport i believe, they don't discount the product, but will throw in the rubber protection mat, so you are saving £35, which is about 10% give or take Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I understand now. I don't visit those forums so that's why I haven't seen it.
Tbh, I like the boxes but £500 is a bit salty for my taste, which is what a double box plus delivery turns into.
Keeping my eye on 2nd hand market though...
