Australia 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Hi folks

Just got myself a second-hand MY2010 Freelander 2 with 100,000 kms on it last month.
I was going to go for a Nissan X-Trail but thought I should try a hardier 4wd as I am hoping to take the family onto some dirt Very Happy

First time driving a continental & diesel (it does get pretty noisy with the windows down, doesn't it?).

I am currently trying to replace the high-line audio system with a Parrot Asteroid Smart. Let's hope that I still have an audio system at the end of it.

See you guys around.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi everyone,
I'm a girlie and very proud owner of my Freelander 2 2007 TD4 SE auto, Stornaway Grey. I've had her a couple of years now and love her. I'm just getting to the point where I want to add a towbar and buy a small caravan, so will be looking to the other msg boards for advice on professional tow bar fitting in the High Wycombe are. Hubbie could do it, cause he's pretty good with that kind of thing Very Happy , (he used to have a Defender and a Series III), but we're not sure how much the reversing aid will complicate matters.
Anyway, glad I found you all, better late than never!, and I look forward to "chatting" with you.
Elaine

England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Stornoway Grey
xs_e joins the fleet

Hello from coastal Essex.
Just taken the plunge and collected a very nice 2009 xs td4_e to replace our Ford eurobox.

Having owned a number of discovery's including a 200tdi, 300 tdi auto and finally a Td5 before going back to a couple of cars I am very pleased to be back behind the wheel.

It joins my 1958 series one and a poor old 110 200tdi CSW which is really used and abused but still running.

Just thought I would introduce myself, soon to be owner of a freelander 2 take delivery September. Live in lincolnshire, Been looking into the car for a few months and reading the many detailed posts on here before committing to buy which turned into nightmare. Looking forward to sharing ideas and knowledge with everyone. Have some ideas for upgrades on the car just need to keep the better half happy and wait till I have it for a little while. This will be my first Land Rover so excuse my lack of knowledge with the terminology at times.

Thanks

2013 LR2 2.0T SE Auto Fuji White
New Owner of '13

Hi all,

After the recent addition of our first child to my family, it became clear that the little MB W202 we've been driving around in for the last decade just wasn't up to the challenge of the extra cargo & the need to keep my wife from getting stuck in winter snow when I'm not with her.

Other small SUVs we were considering included GLK, X3, XC60, & Cherokee. Quite frankly most of them handled better on road & delivered better acceleration, but the fit, finish & function just wasn't up to the same standard as the little 2013 LR2 we just picked up.

It had been a dealer loaner with under 10,000km, & it was first registered only 3 months ago so we were able to negotiate ~$15,000 off MSRP.

It's in Fuji White with almond interior.

It's got the turbo 4 which attracted me for its relative fuel economy & the fact it's got chain-driven cams. It sure isn't going to win any drag races (not that that's the point), but the motor feels surprisingly smooth & torquey. Turbo-lag is noticeable from off-idle, but once up to speed it's not enough of an issue to really comment on.

I am looking forward to picking it up from the dealer & getting out on some trails with it!

South Africa 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Ipanema Sand

Hi all,
I'm new to Land Rovers. I'm in Johannesburg South Africa. I've bought the Freelander 2 SD4, 2011 HSE model. I used to be a big Subaru fan (having driven a Forester for about 6 years). Have now upgraded to a FL2. Hoping to see what mods can be done.
Best,
F.
