Mav, re: the XE, was it the black VK14 with the oversize wheels, split front bumper and full of dents? It's usually parked opposite the Fire Station. I guess it's heading for the crash compound in the not too distant.... Foraging near Gaydon....

Poland 2014 Freelander 2 2.0T HSE Auto Santorini Black

New Discovery Sport doesn't look like offroader. Solid/body is like in any of Asian/Japan SUVs.
Worse approach, departure&breakover angles.
I am worried about ground clearance and suspension travel. Not looks good.

It looks like family car, body looks like lifted estate/wagon car.
The only and the last thing to save off-road capatibilities would be pneumatic suspension (liftable) but I don't belive.
I guess Land Rover will go at most into magneride which is adaptive but couldn't increase the clearance.

Why to choose a new Land Rover if it will have similar offroad capatibilites like any other SUV?
There are many SUVs like this. Volvo XC60 has better interior quality, Toyota RAV4 is very comfortable nad cheap, BMW or Subaru has excellent onroad handling. Etc, etc....

Im my opinion Evoque also hasn't real off-road capatibilities but it looks very cool, the new class has been created and there are no too many real competitiors so far. What unique we will get in Discovery Sport? 7 seats are not a deal for me. I am not married, I don't consider, and Freelander has very good dimensions for me, only 4 meters and 50 centimeters of length.

I am replacing my 2011 Freelander next year, I am very happy with Freelander 2 and very dissapointed with rumours about it successor. I am not sure if I will choose Land Rover brand again. I am going to follow the sales or price drops for the last production year of current Freelander...

Any chance, Rob, of applying your skills to create a 5 door version of the DC100 concept? Seems like that's what several of us really want and we will have to skip Discovery Sport Very Happy

I think it is the way the angle of this picture, but it does show the car pretty much how the production car will look.

I saw both the new Jaguar XE and the new Disco Sport with no black and white vinyl and it does look very good!

The Jaguar XE does look very nice I have to say I can see it being a good seller for JLR Thumbs Up You didn't manage to take a pic of the Disco sport on the sly Mav did you Very Happy

No, it was a red one which looked all but production ready. I thought it looked stunning.

You are basing your views from information seen in the press and on a forum. Land rover will never build a car that is not in a different league Han the competition.

I am sure the engineers have thought it through! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Just had a look at the DC100 concept, there seems to be quite a few variants including a 5 door on the net? MY11 Freelander 2 TD4 S, Santorini Black, Almond Cloth, Full MY 2013 facelift, Factory Privacy Glass, Clear View Pack, Folding Mirrors, Rear Parking Sensors, LR 19" DogLeg Alloys, and lots of other stuff!

I'm now tempted to grab an 'end of line' FL2 when the Disco Sports starts rolling out, hoping to get a decent discount to shift stock... does that sound likely? Razz

I'm sat in my dealers and they have a higher Spec Metropolis at £36k or a low spec HSE for £38k, why would someone want to pay more for a lower spec, unless they don't like LR choice to run out end of line cars with special edition names

I think once they have DS on the forecourt they want to shift FL2 and deals will be there to snap up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Firenze Red

Not very likely , we bought ours last week , car was at the start of production so we had time to add a few extras . Most of the cars so we where told are sold . I don't see that there will be a compound full of cars , again as far as I can make out this is the last production run.

Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 TD4_e Dynamic Manual Fuji White

Are the majority of LR’s now not built to order apart from the dealer showroom stock cars Whistle

When will production of the Freelander actually end…. i.e when is the latest that you can order a new car. I am waiting for December to book my full day at my Land Rover Experience Centre. I just hope they will still have FL’2 available. I'm guessing that they have both manuals and auto... MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
