No not normal about 5 years is average mine is older,may be worth giving it a good charge and get the alternator checked. |

certainly should last longer than that, possibly a duff battery or a problem with the charging system on the car. either way covered under warranty. Iain |

By the look of your signature - Singapore - you will have few sub-zero starts, so that should give you longer battery life.

Is yours a manual with eco/stop-start? Wondering how many city stop start cycles its been through in the heat with aircon on. Bound to cause battery stress. Td4 XS manual, Orkney Grey, MY2014 |

Be careful which battery charger you choose "normal" ones arn't right for stop/start vehicles. You need something like

It is a 2.0T HSE Auto according to the icon 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

I had a battery die (confirmed dead battery by Green Flag) at about 3 years (2010 HSE). Got a new one at Halfords and about 3 months later that died. LR plugged the car in and found that there was a fault (possible intermittent) with the rear hatch handle. |
