Trip computer resets for no apparent reason

Once again this morning I started the car & I saw that the trip had re-set to 0.0 and the info display - trip, mpg, mph etc had also set to zero. Before this happened the key fob ejected for some reason prior to starting.
This happens every few weeks - Any ideas/suggestions?

I think most on here would recommend fitting an extra earth cable from the battery to starter motor,it seems to cure a lot of things.

Yes, there is a software/firmware update that fix that...
Ask the dealer for technical bulletin LTB00093.

My 2007 TD4 used to do that but very infrequently. I would insert the key fob and nothing would happen. I had to then eject it and re-insert and all was OK except the trip computer had reset to zero.

The dealer said it wasn't a known problem and told me that "there are always lots of fault codes on the Freelander 2" when I asked if they could check. Not too reassuring. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

This is a half hour labour software upgrade. Had it done on my first FL2.
