Sorry, doc, but the political wrangling is more entertaining than some football match. It's not even as if England have a chance - they're just there making up the numbers.

Badger
The disinformation you broadcast so loudly, so boldly, in your last post illustrates quiet clearly that it is you and not I that is "rattled".

Notwithstanding that, your proclamations directed at my character do require a clarifying response. As is the norm for a Badger you are completely in the dark as to where I journey across the political spectrum, or to the reason behind my departure announcement, and as to why I returned.

A man's politics is his democratic right - you're entitled to that as much as I or any other person on FreeL2 is to theirs. Stick to that and permit an open transparent exchange of opinion. If you disagree present your case and debate the issue as I do - that's not by any measure a sign of "getting rattled" as you claim.

And finally, those involved in the reason why I decided at one point in 2012 to leave the forum know full well those circumstances - you do not. (The announcement of which was a way of saying thank you to the many members that had answered my technical queries or extended a helping hand on other issues over the years) Following my departure many members contacted me to request that I reconsider my decision. Out of respect for their friendships I returned to the forum.

As The Doctor prescribes - back to the football - have a joyful WC.

Not rattled at all dear Athelstan, why on earth would I be?.....I deal with far worse than you on a daily basis...certainly I'm not offended by your ignorance either. For the record, I have only ever heard of a quiet clear night in context....did you mean 'quite' per chance? You don't need to use big and clever words as often as you do when challenged...just stick to plain English dear boy! Let everyone know what exactly your point is, and you stand far less chance of being mis-interpreted/mis-quoted.

I will indeed have a good WC, thank you for your warm wishes, and I will look forward in earnest to your well thought out responses when challenged by other contributors on any subject. Are you supporting England by any chance? Or, having defected, are you likely to be backing the bosch?

In the meantime, and in a tone of phrase that I'm sure that you will understand behind all the self-importance and bluff.....chill out.....you're a long time dead in this world!

You are indeed a:
Demented patronising soul,
Delusional of you're own self importance,
Defensive of your own limited lexicon, and
Discredited by the authorship of your own script.

Indeed...quite so! You have accurately described yourself to an absolute tee!! Cheers (or Beers) Thumbs Up Hurrah for the legacy of MT.!!! Clearly, you have lost all sense of rationality living over there in the mountains, along with sensibility it would seem!Laughing Notwithstanding that your Excellency lost the debate by resorting to personal insults some time ago...not very professional from a 'learned Academic' now is it? I now await your (invariable) implementation of Godwin's Law in earnest dearest superior intellectual.....go on,you know ya wanna... Laughing

Meanwhile in the real world, just a few beheadings in Iraq to report......nothing much to get excited about I guess.... Foraging near Gaydon....

So due to the intoxication of your own self importance you see the stupidity of your first response and initiate a fast edit.

Then acknowledging the inadequacy of your edited reply you pounce to add an additional broadside of blubber.

Blubber on you Buffoon.

For I have no more time to expend upon your vitriol.

Rightly so.....It would top their miserable ratings. I'm surprised that they haven't commissioned Shami of Chakhrabati fame to oversee a full Public inquiry into the comments, just *in case* they are deemed 'offensive' (which given that her sister now presents the News at One, will probably be the case to some remote viewer, somewhere in Outer Mongolia (or Reading/Switzerland)...remember Doc, where's there's blame etc etc

It's amazing how little humour some have in the 21st Century......

Ps: Hoop Hollandsie Foraging near Gaydon....

Whilst not wanting to get involved in this debate, or indeed the WC, please be advised that Shami and Reeta are not only NOT sisters, they are not even related. (Reeta does have a sister, by the name of Lolita)
