Though the OP has a 2007 model GS, he asked where the 4wd switch (TR?) "is on this model". not his apparently as the GS does, especially 2007 my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

4wd will not be affected thats down to the haldex. special programmes are not adjustable just set in one all encompassing average setting.

Yep, many members have had the "S" model. Some even tried (don't know if succesfully) to fit the terrain response themselves. |

Think the Terrain Response came standard on all models from MY11 until then it was only the "S" model that didn't have it. |

Freelander without Terrain Response is a remarkably capable vehicle and can go pretty much anywhere a Terrain Response equipped version can go. It just requires more driver input and skill to achieve the same result. |

To go back to the OP, all Fr2s except recent specifically 2WD models have four wheel drive. It's not selectable. Don't confuse this with the terrain response control, which gives different 4WD settings for different situations. As rchrdleigh says, still a very capable car. I nearly bought one, but it had no cruise control, and that's something I use a lot. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
