I do not quite understand what you mean,as its constant 4wd you do not need a selector,or are we talking at cross purposes? |

Looks like a 'S' trim one to me - they didn't have TR fitted in the earlier cars. Also photo shows no front fog light switch which was an option on 'S' trim, although it must have the trip computer fitted as an option gauging by the dash. 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

Its an S trim model, no controls on the steering wheel and no terrain response

Yes I mean that it cannot be 2wd because the option wasn't available in 2007.

As far as I know, it just runs in 'normal' 4 wheel drive, with no option to switch in any jiggery pokery controls for snow or off road. Probably suit most drivers for 98% of the time! 2007 SE Manual : Gone and missed but 2013 HSE Lux is better!
