I would say that it is cosmetic, although may prevent the lip on the wheel arch being chipped by stones ?

The front nearside trim (only) now has an extra rubber seal. Presumably it's there for a reason or they wouldn't have changed it. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

I also had problems and ended up replacing them you can order them from your local landrover dealer and they are easy to fit. my freelander was 7years old when I replaced them. Freelander 2 SD4 hse Lux Loire Blue, side steps and roof rails fitted |

For what it's worth when we bought our FL2 last week we bartered a free service in and they changed all 4. They looked fine before hand to my eyes..... |

Hmm this is something I keep coming back to, mine are alittle up and down on the truck and would look nice if replaced with new again, but is it just a case of pulling the old ones off and pushing the new on? Or are there clips or rivets to remove? ( I havnt had a close look )

If you swap them give the wheel arch a good wash before fitting the new one's as there is a lot of muck up there. |
