United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Lago Grey
Haynes Manual/service guide

Hi All,

Does anyone know if they are writing a haynes manual for the FL2? If not, does anyone know where I can get a guide for carrying out a service? Wink

I am sick of paying for something I should be able to do myself.

Big Cry Thanks

James

Haynes Manual

I contacted Haynes recently and was told they did not produce a FL2 manual
and had no plans to do so. Very helpfull to all us technical people!!
You could try the TOPIx Landrover site, its a pay for information but much
cheaper than a sevice!!

Apparently not if you pay once then download everything in one go - no need to pay ever again. So I have read - not tried it.

It won't do. Haynes never release manuals whilst the vehicle is still in production. The MY2013 will not get published until the replacement comes along.

Mechanically, the cars both pre and post 2013 are pretty much the same, so it should still be of use from that perspective. I think it was only the looms/control modules etc that were changed. Foraging near Gaydon....

It's just for the Diesel. And the unofficial manual on eBay was diesel only too. What's the problem with petrol engines Sad 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.

No problem with petrol engines. The problem is with European governments who raise money by taxing fuel to the extent that it costs more than 」6 per gallon over here. Which makes large petrol engines prohibitively expensive to run and pushes us all in the direction of small (relatively) diesels.

It's both amusing and irritating to watch US / Aussie car shows and see cars which over here have, say, 2 litre diesels over there have 4 litre petrols! They only do 20 to the gallon, but nobody seems to care.

That said, the low-down grunt of a decent diesel does work very well in a 4x4, particularly when coupled to a 2-speed transfer case.

Going slightly off topic, the other over-here/over-there irritation is the interesting-looking cars which aren't available here for some reason. Why, for example, is Toyota's 4-Runner Trail not available here, suitably engined, and with appropriate styling tweaks? It looks like it could give the FL2 a run for its money.

Hi all, I use a CD disc manual that I bought from EBay and loaded on to my laptop. It's a clone copy of Topix but has static pages to read whereas Topix on line will automatically take you from section page to section page. Once you have understood how to navigate manually you are away...
.
I am more than happy with my eBay purchase.
.
Kind regards
