Even without the 'kit' I know you will enjoy it, it's not long before the sound of traffic, industries disappear and then you want to stop and listen, peace and quiet only the sounds of nature, great photo opportunities as well in capturing perhaps something no-one else has clicked before

Sounds to me like the kit is the point of the exercise - he just wanted a new toy to play with. |

CG-style welcomes notwithstanding, don't get too fixated on planning and rigidly following a route. Sometimes the best walks are had by wandering off along a path which just looks interesting.

That's what I was thinking but the system had a 8gb micro SD card in with GB maps
