I would suspect the flywheel.

It is doing it in the lower gears too if that makes any difference?

It probably doesn't make any difference to the solution, but the symptoms do sound a bit different from the norm which is slip usually only in gears 4-6, sometimes 3rd. I've not heard of it in 2nd before, so your problem might be different. It will still be in the area of clutch / flywheel / slave cylinder, though, so the fix is likely to be the same. |

Ah, different to DMF problems. It wont slip no matter how hard you try in the lower gears because the torque is lower.
