Fuel tank guard

Has anybody got drawings or photos of an underfloor guard for the Fuel Tank?
.
I went of a white road north of Pickering last weekend and got too close for comfort when I caught somthing underneath. The tank looks like a dead stop underneath if you catch it on a boulder.
.
I suspect Mantec do one however I guess it's a simple bit of steel fabrication in reality.
.
Kind regards from Fred

Mantec do do one, for around £300 iirc. (I don't have one, so can't help with dimensions, etc.) It's a bit more than a steel fabrication - it's aluminium, which makes it lighter, and I think some brackets are required to fit it, which you'd also need to make. There seem to be plenty of photos on the net, and there also appears to be one on eBay for £99 excluding bolts and brackets.

Please can I ask again if a member can photo under his Freelie with a Mantec or similar tank guard fitted. I would like to know how it attaches on what brackets etc.
.
The ones on fleabay are missing the fixings. I'm still wondering if I can fabricate one myself.
.

Photo's added to my gallery, apologies for the dirt, although I don't mind cleaning it I prefer to drive it. The two rear mountings are metal brackets that secure to the chassis (if you can call it a chassis) near to the brackets that hold up the hand brake cable. No holes had to be drilled and I seem to remember that they were a pig to fit by myself. The two front mountings are bolts that screw into a plate with a threaded hole that slides into a channel in the chassis. Hope that helps, other than taking the thing off, if I can help further you just have to ask.

I put my tank guard on after going out in my car with the Honiton LRE guys. I had a look at a high spot my car grounded on an decided that using a plastic tank to rest my FL2 on was not a good idea.

check your MY compatibiity

I had a Mantec Sump guard on my 56 and then later on my 60 plate
When I tried to have it fitted to a MY13 it would not fit - the fixing bolts were in a different position Sad

so sold it here to a very nice man.
