Just to let you all know I am very happy with harwoods of tonbridge.

Purchased a new hse lux last week, they gave 3k discount off list price, then two years free servicing, then 2k extra on my trade in than Barrett's Ashford offered, then discounted roof rails and towbar/electrics saving nearly £500.

I know it's the end of the march registration but I was not expecting to save 5.5k. And I love the big red autoglym filled suitcase that came in the boot.

I feel I could have pushed for more discounts but had to pick the kids up from school so signed the paperwork.

They even did an unveiling of the car under a sheet which was slightly embarrassing but 'A' for effort.

That's good to hear. I hope to get a new Freelander in the next few years and it's interesting to see what can be achieved at a dealers...

My experience of their service department was appalling, so much so that I will never go there again. A £100 "free" cup of coffee after which they told me what I had already told them and a request for another couple of hours diagnostics at £100+ an hour. They really don't seem to have a clue if it is anything out of the ordinary.

A quick trip to my local independent to explain the symptoms and my view of what I thought the problem was and he agreed that it could not be anything else. He was astounded that Harwoods could not identify the problem in 2 minutes. A quick change of the pump on the haldex and I was sorted.

Sorry for the rant, but I hate paying for the incompetence of so called "experts". - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.

Weird, strange how people get different experiences. They solved all my old issues straight away.

there can be massive differences in customer service between the sales dept and the workshop.

unfortunately I find this has been the case with the Landrover dealers I have used, where the workshop just do not seem to give a monkeys !!

Agree. Sales and service often exist in different universes.

I have bought several LR's from Hardwoods Tonbridge and always had a 1st class service whether sales or service.

The difference is one department want you to give them your money, the other will just take it.

We bought our FL2 from Harwoods Tonbridge bit of a trek from Welshpool but we had great service and car was cheaper than anywhere else
