Out of interest, and it could be too soon to ask, but how far can you go on a full tank of gas? |

i will be filling it up at the weekend and going for a drive around the lakes,so i will see how long it takes to go from full (4 lights) to 3/4 (3 lights) and work it out from that. |

The last LPG car I had was a Nissan Pathfinder. It got 13 l/100 km petrol and 17 l/100 gas. I hear the economy is better with the new systems. The reason I switched was when travelling away from the cities here, there was either no gas or it was super expensive. At the time, prices were city $1.20 petrol 60c gas but outback country $1.60 petrol $1.20 gas or worse. The only diesels we could get at the time were crappy Jap things that had no power, bad economy and high service costs. My LPG motors all lasted a long time, not using any oil with 350k on the clock. |

I ran a Disco 1 V8 for 70,000 miles on lpg. I paid £1000 for the conversation, twin underfloor tanks 35ltr capacity each. I bought my lpg from a builders merchants, less than half the price of petrol at the time. No difference mpg whether on petrol or gas. Main advantage, V8 power/sound track with (in money terms) diesel economy. Main disadvantage you had to plan your long journeys around lpg filling stations, however, there are more about than you imagine, with a database of them on the web. Subsequently fitted a 100ltr tank in boot and sold the underfloor tanks. Lost the dickie seats, but not an issue for me. I boxed the tank in and fitted a dog guard so enough room for luggage.

One thing I do remember was that the quality of LPG varied a lot. Some fills were 'light' and others 'heavy'. I could get a variation of up to 100kms out of the tank depending on the quality over the same conditions. I'm assuming the light tanks had more propane and the heavy tanks more butane. It's a mixture out here. |

I think most of the gas now is Calor gas. The installer said that it is also them that have set the rules on the install of the system to, saying that 20% of the tank must not be used, so my 71ltr tank can only be filled to about 55ltr.

What MPG are you getting on Petrol out of your i6? Last time we went up to Scotland from Buckinghamshire we were getting 35mpg. Which seems okay.
