Obviously a highly educated and well-informed chap. You just need to perfect the superior smirk, like you know something he doesn't. Always gets to them... What does he drive, so we can redress the balance and have a laugh at him?! Oh, and how do you manage to get 24mpg? You must spend your life stuck in traffic whilst towing a 2-ton trailer to get that low! |

Nope, just admiring it. The Avensis isn't bad for an 'ordinary' car, but not a patch on the FL! His loss. Maybe just me, but that 24 still looks low. I live in the Pennines, but still get 36-38 driving locally. OK, my driving style is relatively relaxed, and the auto typically gives 5-6 mpg less than the manual, but even so... |

had a re-thought and have deleted my comments on the steps. however with MPG so bad I just wonder if there is something else amiss; could it be a leaking EGR valve causing havoc with the fuel/air mix?

Why would you waste fuel by coasting down hills? |

Cheers for the comments,
I will see what missing when the steps arrive,
i have never seen them before. As for the MPG i knew it was bad but thought thats what im going to get, i have had the glowplugs done in the past month at a top Jaguar garage in Wakefield and full service, gearbox oil and after all the work they did not spot anything odd. I live just off saddleworth moor, must be the thin air I'm a little concerned now, it is under stratstone warranty, might get it to them to have a look Suppose only getting 370 miles per tank is not good, i have got a diesel chip in and get around 27 now but that is only a quick test. Thanks |
